Group Cycles
Brigadoon Fitness offers group cycles that are a little different from the regular exercise bikes. They are built to be similar to an outdoor road bike and give you a more intense workout. The handlebars a little lower and adjustable, there is no console, and there is a weighted flywheel. With this cycle you can simulate changing gears with a twist of a knob.
With group cycles you can feel as though you are riding a bike outside. Going up and down hills, pedaling for long stretches, and sprinting towards the finish.
These are typically used in a spin class or group class. This form of exercise is intense and focuses on endurance, strength, intervals, and high intensity.
While similar to a stationary or recumbent bike in that it works your quads, glutes, hamstrings, and calves, the group cycle can work more muscles when you stand and pedal, such as the back, triceps, and your core. It becomes a full body workout that improves your cardiovascular system, burns more calories and works your muscles harder.
