But why are stationary bikes/cycles so popular? There are many benefits of using bikes in your exercise routine. It is a low impact workout that is great for the heart and lungs. It is also builds and strengthens your legs and lower body. It improves your muscle and joint mobility. It burns calories and fat, and it boosts your energy.

There are several types of exercise bikes available on the market. The upright bike, which is the most common on the market, where the body weight rests entirely on the small portion of the sitting area, the feet and the hands. A recumbent bike is where the rider is more in a reclining position. This ergonomic position distributes the rider’s weight more comfortably over a larger area, supported by back and buttocks. Indoor bikes which have a greater range of resistance levels are great for vigorous workouts. Air bikes or fan bikes with movable handles give you a greater full body workout. Self-powered bikes with no power source needed.
